Master Kaos

Originally from Brisbane, Master Kaos sites DJ Angus (Australian DMC Mixing Champion) as one of his early inspirations. He helped him to perfect important DJ skills such as scratching, beat juggling and other essential cuts and techniques. Soon after, Master Kaos made the move to Melbourne to pursue his passion.

Emerging from the underground in March 2000 when Sound of Now Productions offered him a residency at Jason Midro's hugely popular "Bass Station", Master Kaos's career powered upwards - culminating in his ranking as No.4 Victorian DJ (No.28 nationally) in the Technics inthemix Top 50 DJ Poll.

Master Kaos has played alongside Dj superstars such as, Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Armin Van Buuren, John "00" Fleming, Cosmic Gate, Hennes n Cold, Kai Tracid, DJ the Crow and David Rzenno a.k.a. Uberdruck, S.H.O.K.K. just to name a few.

After developing his unique flavour & style for 5 years - as both a national performer and event manager – Master Kaos decided to launch his independent career in 2005 holding his own management while passing on his experiences through his teaching means of what he calls "Master Class". This is his very own DJ School where you can learn his art of Kaos.

It is his love of new music & innovation that are hallmarks of the Master Kaos sound. Famous for his introductions, most noticeably his notorious use of 7 vinyl’s across 3 decks for the first 2 minutes of his recent CD, Bass Station "The DJ Series Vol.1" (Ministry of Sound - this release), along with his earlier success, Bass Station "Underground Sounds" (Ministry of Sound), cemented his place among the nation's best. Not stopping to catch his breath, Master Kaos is in the beginning stages of production for the much anticipated "official" Bubble Vol.1 CD (Central Station) – to be released mid 2005 in conjunction with a national tour.

LCK

Luiz Carlos Da Cunha (Kunya) a.k.a LCK discovered his love for melodic and uplifting trance when he first started djing in 1999. Through his dedication, passion, and infinite ability behind the decks, LCK proved to be a crowd favourite at clubs such as The Metro, ZOS, Hi Fi Bar, Bubble and The Palace -- as well as playing alongside such talent as Marc Dawn (Green Court), Leeroy Thornhill (Prodigy), DJ WAG (Yakooza), Dave Joy, Guyver, Brooklyn Bounce etc.

LCK soon formed a strong and invaluable friendship with Master Kaos, an already renowned trance/scratch DJ, who introduced him to the scratching' side of things, where he discovered his true passion lay.

With a driving passion to introduce and educate people in the unique style and techniques of scratching to which he has become accustomed, LCK has recently launched his own business called Dyverse Scratching Techniques (DST) which is designed to help teach others DST in both school environments and private tutorials --- across all styles of music, including trance, drum'n'bass and breaks.

Proving his unique drive and devotion to the music scene universally, LCK has recently joined ex-punk band formerly known as One Odd Reason, and taken his turntablism to the next step, combining his Dyverse Scratching Techniques with original band members and renaming themselves One Odd. Making every effort to continually inspire and be inspired, LCK has recently been appointed manager of Tsunami Records, where he helps music lovers find those tunes that keep a smile on their dial.

THE 9th INSIGHT

Through spiritual background and the knowing and believing that anything is possible, the creative talent of Master Kaos and LCK joined forces to create The 9th Insight in 2003. After temporarily going their separate ways in an effort to seek new and ground-breaking styles and techniques, the boys are back bringing a sound never heard before.

Over 4 decks and 2 mixers, they will blow the minds of all who witness their wizardry, creating a path for new comers to recognize and pursue a new edge on djing, incorporating trance, techno, breaks, hip hop and scratching, and dedicated to taking djing to a level never seen before in the dance scene.

Infecting people with their innovation, and with a busy schedule through to the end of the year, not only the 9th insight, but all of us as a whole will have a different look at what we define as DJ'ing as the 9th Insight storms ahead towards something new.

Being able to inspire each other plays a big part of the 9th insight, put simply "It's important to try new things, push the boundaries and progress the music whilst giving back to the people". It is this inspiration and philosophy that has taken the formidable duo of Master Kaos and LCK to become leaders of the trance/scratch sound in Melbourne, causing theirs to be the name echoed whenever the genre of scratching is mentioned.
